Graffiti was designed in 1984 by Australian designer Kell Steinmann and built out of aluminium by well known West Australian sailor, Bill Rafferty, who campaigned her very successfully for many years out of Fremantle Sailing club.

She is an excellent example of Kell's ULDB range of designs, which were designed to be easily driven hulls with ultra light displacement (not ultra light by todays standards but quite revolutionary in 1984).

A new Jon Sayer designed keel was added in 2002, and he designed and built a new rudder for her in 2016.

I bought Graffiti from Bill in 2001 to do the 2003 Melbourne to Osaka two handed yacht race and finished with an elapsed time of 35 days, coming 2nd in racer class B (yachts 12 to 14 metres).

I've been ocean racing for 35 years and delivering yachts professionally for the last 10 years.

The Solo Trans Tasman is a race I've wanted to do for quite a while and I'm really looking forward to the challenge.
